Gearbox remapping for supported vehicles in Kent
Modern automatic and dual-clutch gearboxes use software to control shift behaviour, torque requests, clutch operation and other transmission strategies. On supported vehicles, gearbox remapping can alter selected software parameters to better suit the vehicle and the way it is driven.
What can gearbox software affect?
- Shift timing and response on supported transmissions
- Torque-management behaviour
- Interaction with an engine remap where appropriate
- Selected shift strategies or limits supported by that gearbox
Not every gearbox supports the same functions. We confirm the vehicle, gearbox type and software compatibility before recommending a service.
Engine and gearbox remapping together
On some vehicles, an engine remap and gearbox calibration can complement each other. On others, the standard gearbox software is already suitable. We do not automatically recommend both; the sensible route depends on the vehicle and intended result.
Transmission faults should be diagnosed first
Gearbox remapping is not a repair for slipping clutches, worn components, low fluid pressure, mechatronic faults or active transmission warning messages. Existing symptoms should be disclosed before booking and may require diagnosis or mechanical repair first.
